October 22nd to 30th is National Internment Commemoration Week, and October 28th is National Internment Commemoration Day.
During this week we remember the thousands of Ukrainians that were interned in concentration camps between 1914-1920 under the acting authority of the War Measures Act in Canada.
Many people are unaware of the wrongful treatment of Ukrainian settlers in Canada, this sad part of history is often forgotten. That is why we ask that YOU help spread awareness. Be the voice for those who never received the chance to speak up for themselves. Please share this post to help spread awareness!
If you would like to learn more about the internment of Ukrainians, we recommend watching the movie That Never Happened, it is available with a prime video subscription.
