DESCRIPTION:The Verkhovyna Ukrainian Song and Dance Ensemble invites you to an evening full of Ukrainian dance\, song\, and a show in which we get to see our Ukrainian bachelor find his love. \nWith performances from the Dunai Dancers and the Verkhovyna Choir\, this is a night you are not going to want to miss! As well\, if you come on Saturday night you will also get to enjoy an amazing Zabava with music from Euphoria! \nThis is an important fundraiser for the ensemble as we prepare for Dunai’s 50th anniversary and the 65th anniversary of the Verkhovyna choir. These anniversaries are to be celebrated in 2024\, when the Ensemble plans to tour to further spread our love and passion for Ukrainian culture\, while celebrating these anniversaries. \nThroughout the evening there will be multiple ways we will be supporting Ukraine – so please come out to the show and look for these opportunities to support our brothers and sisters in Ukraine!

DESCRIPTION:Veselka Ukrainian Dance Association is one of Canada’s many prized adult Ukrainian dance ensembles.\nVeselka\, now more than ever\, feels the importance of standing with the people of Ukraine and supporting their fight against oppression. A portion of our ticket sales will be going to the Cobblestone Freeway Foundation in support of their humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. \nWe are holding our Annual Winter Zabava on February 11\, 2023 at the Polish Hall in Edmonton\, AB. \nThe evening will contain live music by Mashyna\, a hot late lunch\, raffles\, door prizes\, as well as performances by Ruta and Veselka! \nFor tickets and more information\, visit www.veselka.ca

DESCRIPTION:SHUMKA AUDITIONS 2023 \nSunday February 26 \nDoors open at 1 PM; Auditions at 2 PM \nShumka Dance Centre\n10515 – 111 Street\, Edmonton\, Alberta \nRealize your dance dreams! Take the step to exciting dance opportunities\, great friendships and life-lasting personal development. Join Shumka in training\, the development of new works\, a “Whirlwind Summer” of festival performances\, and a 3-city Nutcracker tour – all in 2023! \nThe audition will include basic ballet barre\, character and contemporary combinations\, regional Ukrainian dance combinations\, basic acting while performing\, and an opportunity to demonstrate solos or acrobatics. \nAuditions are open to the entire dance community. Although experience in Ukrainian dance is an asset\, anyone with high-calibre training in ballet\, contemporary\, jazz\, or modern dance\, acrobatics\, or stage experience in another style of dance will be considered. Dancers must be at least 16 years of age in 2023. \nDancers in Shumka are not required to pay for tuition\, training or touring costs.
