DESCRIPTION:OKSANA MOVCHAN\nJAN 12\, 2024 TO JAN 27\, 2024\nWe are delighted to announce our January Signature Artists is visual artist Oksana Movchan! \nExhibition will be on view at ACUA January 12 – January 27 during regular hours. \nGallery Hours\nTue-Thu 10am-4pm\nFriday 2pm-7pm\nSaturday 11am-3pm \nACUA\n10554 110 Street\nEdmonton \nA Halo Generator is the Invention of the Century \nOksana Movchan is a visual artist born in Ukraine now residing and working in Edmonton. She has been exploring visual art through many types of media for several decades. Her focus for many years has been painting. The main focus of her solo exhibition at ACUA will be experienced as a collection of paintings created over the course of five years (2019-2023) along with a selection of etchings from an earlier period of her career. \nMost paintings and etchings are united by a theme that explores the ancient concept of “metanoia”\, the transformation of the heart and human consciousness. Oksana’s paintings feature a variety of imaginary and reality-based spaces populated by dream-like objects (both organic and inorganic) infused with geometric figures and undefined visual interventions. She is continually striving to develop and refine her painting technique. Building on a vocabulary of symbols allows her to use a storytelling approach alongside a visual language of non-linear abstraction. Her art practice is informed by her own personal journey leading to many poignant and transformative spiritual experiences\, which she shares through my work.

DESCRIPTION:Join us in celebrating Ukrainian new years with Troyanda! We are excited to welcome back all of our community and friends for a party!\nEnjoy an evening out filled with Ukrainian culture hosted by Troyanda Ukrainian Dance Club of Lethbridge! This event is a fundraiser in support of Ukrainian dance and culture in Lethbridge.\nWe are delighted to have our guests indulge with a traditional Ukrainian dinner\, a dance show provided by all of our dancers from ages 3-timeless\, and to end the evening with a social dance with live entertainment provided by Ukrainain band\, Absolute of Calgary.\nThe evening will be filled with other activities such as our silent auction where everyone can find a great item\, a 50-50 cash draw\, Troyanda shot glasses\, and a fun Vinok/Poyas (heads/tails) game on the dance floor!\nFor Malanka 2024\, we are excited to be hosting our event at the new Lethbridge & District Agri-Food Hub & Trade Centre to allow all of our friends and community to join us.\nGet your tickets early\, and your dancing shoes ready!\nTickets are on sale until January 17\, 2024. UFest returns to Jasper for its second year of celebrating rich Ukrainian Malanka traditions with a casual mountain vibe.
